Sioux Falls Theatre Company Announces Launch, Inaugural ‘Miscast Cabaret’

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Aiming to bring a distinct and fresh new voice to the ever-growing arts scene in Sioux Falls, new theatre company, The Good Night Theatre Collective (GNTC), announced its launch today, as well as its first public performance, a unique cabaret experience with a twist, set for Thursday, Nov. 17.

The company is the brainchild of four Sioux Falls residents who wanted to emphasize the importance of offering community actors the opportunity to take part in unique theatre experiences to hone their skills, as well as offer locals more chances to spend a great night out engaging with the arts.

“Our name kind of says it all,” GNTC Executive Director Sydney Place-Sallstrom said. “Our primary goal is to give our audiences a ‘good night’ out – to show them a great time through fun and entertaining theatre with heart and a sense of humor. We want to add to the quickly growing theatre community here in Sioux Falls.”

The group’s inaugural event, “Twisted: A Miscast Cabaret,” will be hosted at Icon Lounge Thursday, Nov. 17, starting at 8:00 p.m. The premise of the event is an evening of music both familiar and unfamiliar performed by actors and singers never meant to play the parts.

“There’s an element of humor to it that will make for a stellar weeknight out for adults in Sioux Falls,” Place-Sallstrom said. “If you ever wanted to see a man play Glinda the Good Witch, or a woman nail a Jersey Boys classic, ‘Twisted’ is your jam.”

The team behind GNTC hopes to continue offering these unique theatrical experiences in the year ahead. For more information on the company or to secure your tickets for “Twisted: A Miscast Cabaret,” go to GoodNightTheatre.com.
