GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY PRE-ST. PATRICK’S DAY!

The annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Sioux Falls will take place on Saturday, March 14. This is the 46TH parade.

We’re excited to have Kelly Grogan, a retired firefighter and parade stalwart, as this year’s parade Grand Marshal.

Events are kicked off at 11 a.m. with the traditional painting of the shamrock at 9th Street and N. Phillips Avenue in front of First National Bank in Sioux Falls. The parade takes off from Phillips Avenue and S. 13th Street at 2 p.m. and continues north to S. 4th Street.

New this year: This year, the parade has a presenting “Emerald City” sponsor, Central Bank. Thanks to their generosity, the falls at Falls Park will be lit green from March 13th through the 17th to celebrate the holiday.

“Community and family connection are at the core of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and that spirit aligns naturally with Central Bank’s commitment to the markets we serve,” said Nick Brown, Regional President and incoming Chief Executive Officer of Central Bank. “We’re proud to partner in elevating this experience for Sioux Falls families while also contributing to the meaningful nonprofit work the parade supports. It’s an opportunity to celebrate together and give back at the same time.”

Also new this year: Parade Mascot Sean the Leprechaun! (see photos attached)

Look for Sean downtown on Phillips Avenue ahead of the parade, walking with our friends from Central Bank, and handing out tote bags for collection of candy.

Back again this year: Paint Sioux Falls Green!

Multiple downtown landmarks will be lit green through the weekend. Whether with green bulbs or green gels, these downtown buildings and fixtures will be lit green: The Falls, The Arc of Dreams, St. Joseph’s Cathedral (see attached), Washington Pavilion, First Premier Bank, Architecture Inc., and MidWest Bank, among others.

We’d appreciate your help in passing on the message about the parade and have included some background information.
