Clay is the way. I’m a ceramics enthusiast with a love for functional ware. Much of my joy is in the process of wheel work and the exploration of surface. I’m most motivated by process mastery, but the utility of a finished object is nice too. My current goal is to build a body of utilitarian low fire wheel thrown objects, with particular emphasis in mimicking spontaneous soda and wood ash glazing using sprayed glaze application similar to Steven Hill and Mike Stumbras. Further interests include learning about sourcing and processing found clay bodies and wood and soda firing processes.
