About The Artist

Madeleine Scott is a professional performing ballet & contemporary dancer as well as choreographer & coach based in Sioux Falls, SD. Madeleine has performed professionally with Ballet West, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, and LED Boise. She has commercial experience performing for various hip-hop artists and performing in the Pro-Bowl Halftime Show in Hawaii. Madeleine earned her BFA in ballet in 2017 from the University of Utah School of Dance. Madeleine is the founder & artistic director of South Dakota’s first professional ballet company, South Dakota Ballet.

Prior to her professional career, Madeleine received her pre-professional training from the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, PA for which she moved from South Dakota at age 13. She later danced in New York City under the direction of the acclaimed Gelsey Kirkland while training privately with Elena Kunikova. She also received training at American Ballet Theatre, the School of American Ballet, Ellison Ballet, the Ballet West Professional Trainee Division. She has performed in festivals such as the Carreño Dance Festival in Sarasota, FL & Chautauqua Summer Dance Festival in Upstate New York.

Madeleine is still performing as well as producing award winning choreographic works around the region. She coaches a hand selected group of private lesson students and prepares them for prestigious ballet competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix; the world’s largest scholarship ballet competition that landed her at the Rock School in Philadelphia as a young, aspiring dancer.
