About The Artist

“Writing is cheaper than therapy…”

Finding the balance between what makes us the person we are, as opposed to the person we think we are, is the breeding ground for profound fiction. It’s the lies we tell ourselves that create the most vivid narratives. These sacred mendacities provide the seeds for the prose, plays, screenplays, and poetry of Kristi Thomas.

A graduate of Augustana University, Kristi has been a life-long creator. When in the fourth grade she had to recite a poem of her choosing, rather than selecting one of the very fine offerings of Shel Silverstein or Robert Frost, she was the only student who chose to recite one of her own poems. When her teacher asked why she chose one of her own poems she very cheekily replied. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”
