About The Artist

Brenda Sosa is a dedicated art educator with over 22 years of experience inspiring creativity and fostering artistic growth in students of all ages. Growing up on a farm near Alexandria, South Dakota, she developed a deep appreciation for nature and agriculture, which continue to influence her artistic vision. The rhythms of rural life, the textures of the landscape, and the vibrant colors of nature have left a lasting mark on her work.

After years of nurturing others’ talents in the classroom, Brenda recently embarked on a personal journey as an artist, channeling her extensive knowledge about art into her own creative practice. Drawing on a rich background in various media and mixed media combinations, she explores themes of connection to the land and agriculture, as well as her own personal identity and connection to community, while creating works that reflect both personal experiences and shared emotions.

Brenda’s work has been showcased at Serendipity Studios, No. 7 Center Gallery, SOS Art in Cincinnati, OH, and the 49th Annual Fine Arts Exhibition at the Brookings Arts Council. She continually experiments with watercolor, collage, and mixed media, pushing the boundaries of her creativity.
