The theme is “A Day in South Dakota.” Professional and amateur photographers are asked to document what being “South Dakotan” means to them with photos of home, work, connections, and their favorite place.
South Dakota Landscapes – a Quasquicentennial photography project
SDPB will accept submissions from anyone and select representations for a curated gallery of images available via Flickr, and published in a 2015 SDPB Landscapes Calendar.

The very soul of this project is the combination of photos and information about what was photographed and who photographed it. The photos and information gathered will prove a resource for researchers today and to future generations who want to investigate what daily life is like in 2014 South Dakota.
The project participants will be asked to reflect on and shoot photos connected to four main categories:
Connections: It is up to the participants to interpret the categories and choose which category best represented their photos.
South Dakota: What “Being South Dakotan” means to me. Photos related to where and how we live. Work: Photos related to where and how we work.
Connections: Photos related to everything that connects us to each other like community, technology, family, energy, faith, cultures, politics and lifestyle.
