Featured Arts Exhibit: ‘Developing Story’ by John W. Snyder

The SFAC features a new exhibition every two months in an effort to give emerging artists and arts organizations an opportunity to showcase their work. Artists are selected by a panel of jurors and are then presented to the public in a celebratory open house. These events are free and open to the public. Wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres will be available.

Join us September 6th, 2019 as we welcome “Developing Story: a year-long film record of traveling with 605 Magazine’ by John W. Snyder into our Community Gallery.

John’s open house will be from 6 to 8PM with an artist talk at 7PM.

John W. Snyder has worked at 605 Magazine for the last 10 years. As a photographer he has a large published body of work which is generally uncredited in the publication. When not shooting for work, he focuses on portraiture and landscape photography in
black and white medium-format film, through traditional silver-gelatin printmaking. His formal training ended nearly 20 years ago in Philadelphia during the pre-digital age and focused heavily on darkroom techniques.

The SFAC is wheelchair accessible from the back entrance of the Crane Centre.

The Featured Arts Program is rooted in Sioux Falls Imagined, our community’s long-term cultural plan.
