Featured Arts Exhibit: Amanda Boerger

The SFAC features a new exhibition every two months in an effort to give emerging artists and arts organizations an opportunity to showcase their work. Artists are selected by a panel of jurors and are then presented to the public in a celebratory open house. These events are free and open to the public. Wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres will be available.

Join us November 1st, 2019 as we welcome artist Amanda Boerger into our Community Gallery.

Amanda’s open house will be from 5 to 7PM with an artist talk at 6PM.

“I love the complexities of being a human! In a nutshell, my work vacillates between: (1) analytical analysis of the human condition, and (2) joyously basking in its beauty. I’m very fascinated by psychology, identity, and consumerism. I find myself preoccupied with understanding how people compose their identity through their role, the clothes they wear, the company they keep, their environment, the items they consume, et cetera. Though I do maintain a Proustian appreciation for the beauty in the minutia of everyday, my works often possess an undercurrent of skepticism regarding the present social landscape.”

The SFAC is wheelchair accessible from the back entrance of the Crane Centre.

The Featured Arts Program is rooted in Sioux Falls Imagined, our community’s long-term cultural plan.
