Sarah’s paintings explore the social implications of online images of domestic perfection. Her work transforms these images into abstracted musings on the joy and the futility of chasing perfection. Fragments from poems and online domestic sources filter her work, conjuring a diaristic space that alludes to the choices and expectations attendant on women in the shadow of competitive online domesticity-mania.
