Augustana Percussion Ensembles Fall Concert “Cross Currents”

The program will consist of percussion chamber works by a variety of composers including, Cross Currents by Lynn Glasock . The concert will also include a performance of Bob Becker’s Mudra with senior, Alex Pfeiffer as percussion soloist. The piece features North Indian melodic and rhythmic concepts particularly the idea of motivic development and rhythmic ti-hai (a cadential formula with three repetitions) performed on a prepared drum (in imitation of the North Indian Tabla).
